April 27, 2026 - The Stage
I know I’m not the only one feeling some kind of way right now. What is happening in this country is not only sad, it is incredibly disheartening and still unbelievable at this point. We are no longer watching politics anymore… we are watching complete storytelling. I believe pretty much nothing I see anymore until I have fact checked it in some capacity or seen it firsthand.
It seems when this current presidential administration does not like a story given, their version or not… they change it… sometimes multiple times over. Change it not to clarify or correct the story, but simply because they didn’t like it… and changing the actual truth is something they think people will just accept.
Facts are not flexible… they are facts… they can’t be changed. Timelines are timelines for a reason, they are not blurred or estimated… they are exact times that events have occurred.
The fact that we have official statements being made, then those statements get walked back, sometimes reworded, other times completely rewritten, depending on what may sound better or make someone look better… Come on!
When did this become acceptable? This is not some game of spinning what happened and calling it good. We have a standard of truth that we are owed. Simple as that… no more freaking lies… I don’t care what your opinions are, just stick with the facts and tell it like it is. You don’t want something said about you… then don’t do it to begin with.
This administration and the way they think leadership can just rewrite reality to stay comfortable and keep themselves in good light is unacceptable and is downright dangerous at times. Trying to tell us what we see with our own eyes did or didn’t happen, changing the narrative to fit better to what they may be trying to achieve or avoid… that’s not something we have to accept. Let me repeat myself… That is not something we have to accept.
We’re watching narratives shift in real time, not because new truth has come to light, but because they are just flat out lying to us and expecting us to follow along.
I’ll be honest, the part that scares me the most, isn’t even the rewriting… it’s the silence from everyone else around, the ones that know better but refuse to speak up. It’s the fact that what we are being told is entirely impossible at times, yet we just listen and don’t say a word. It’s how quickly people move on. Where’s the pushback? Why have we started to treat truth like it’s negotiable… as if it depends on who’s talking, not what actually happened? This should bother more of us! It irritates the hell out of me.
If we stop demanding honesty and complete truth from those in charge, if we let them rewrite the narrative whenever they want, then we’re not just watching the performance, we are playing right into their hands and allowing it to happen.
I 100% feel… that is all Saturday night was… a performance. Makes me sad to think we would continue putting innocent lives in jeopardy, simply for performance, but that’s what #47 and his administration have done yet again.
This takes me back to the days our daughters performed at the opera house. In rehearsals, to an empty theater, something was always missing. The energy, the connection… it just wasn’t the same. But the moment there was an audience, everything changed. They came alive. That’s how performances work. Maybe it’s time we give this administration everything they deserve… an empty theater… zero participation! Oh how I would love to see some of their faces when they came out for a press briefing… to an empty room. That’s what they need… Because nothing exposes a performance faster than an audience that finally refuses to clap!
