April 11, 2026 - Purpose
Purpose… there’s a quiet kind of struggle that comes with craving purpose and not always knowing where to place it.
Currently unemployed, with many reasons for being so… but damn, some days it can feel heavy in ways people don’t always see. I need purpose… I truly crave it and without a full time job (or even part time, at this point), having purpose can be a real challenge. It’s not just about the job… it’s about routine, it’s about identity, contributing in some capacity. It’s about waking up with the desire to do something meaningful and not always knowing where that fits right now is a bit of a struggle.
And to top that off, I’m currently completely in a season where my body is no longer asking me to slow down… I am being forced to. I am healing, but facing another surgery soon and navigating additional challenges that I don’t want to and didn’t plan for. Rest isn’t always an option I know, but for now… it’s necessary. However, that doesn’t make it easy.
I’m learning that purpose doesn’t disappear just because life doesn’t look like I imagined it to. It’s just different… and a bit slower.
Right now, purpose might be resting… and doing so without guilt (which is so difficult). It might be showing up in little ways, like finishing a grocery order online and scheduling the pick-up. It might mean picking up the phone and finally playing catch up with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while. Or, it may mean simply making it through the day with a little grace.
Shifting my focus from what I can’t do… to what I can. I think that’s going to be key for me in the days to come.
Growth will still happen. Strength will come. Faith will be present. And purpose… it may change from time to time, but embracing what God has given me in this season and being thankful for each and every moment, even in the waiting… I am a lucky girl (even with a body that is testing me a bit right now).
For anyone in a similar situation, you’re not alone. This is never the end of the story, but just a chapter in what’s shaping something much more meaningful, even if it doesn’t quite feel like it yet.
